September 2008 CONTEST

“I’m home, honey!”

THE PRIZES (TWO OF THEM!):

The other thing I discovered while I was away travelling was this wonderful business in Juneau, capital of Alaska, that manufactures and sells the most beeyootiful enamels.  I bought TWO as prizes, one for writers, one for readers (though it doesn’t really matter - it’s totally up to you.) They had hundreds, so if you’re intrigued, visit Wm Spear Designs and go nuts.

Choose between the Bookwings, which is a PIN (brooch)  or the Write Hard, Die Free, which is a FRIDGE MAGNET. Just remember which is which! Aren’t they great?  I know the photos aren’t brilliant, but believe me, the quality of the enamels is stunning and the colours are true and gorgeous.

 THE CONTEST:

All you have to do is leave a comment on the Nifty Names Wordplay post - and you DO need to say in the body of your comment which prize you’d prefer, because there are the two.

You don’t have to offer up a nifty name, though if you know one I’m sure  we’d all love to hear it. But don’t beat yourself up about being clever - it’s not necessary,  okay?  As usual, My Beloved will pick two comments at random, one for each prize.

Contest closes midnight, EST, Friday 12th September, 2008.

June Contest!

Leave a comment in June to be in the running for a signed copy of A RED HOT NEW YEAR!

Four great stories, including my contribution, Coming on Strong.

Sam Jones’s laid-back charm and Aussie drawl have never failed him - until he meets Gina McBride. The little Yank has to be the most skittish woman he’s ever met, and the most intriguing. Making love with her is an experience that makes Sam’s eyes roll back in his head, but she won’t do it with the light on. Then there’s that sexy little growl in the back of her throat when she comes, and she’s so strong.

Announcing…

~Tim Tams on your Tongue~

My Continuing Monthly Contest

Every month, I’ll ask My Beloved to select someone (at random) from all of you who have left a comment and/or subscribed to this blog. The more times you comment, the better your chances!

THE PRIZE?

A packet of Tim Tams PLUS a set of signed oversized postcards of my droolworthy EC covers.

Don’t know what Tim Tams are?

Tim Tams

Chocolate biscuits (cookies) to die for, baby!

Australia’s gift to the chocoholics of the world.

A Tim Tam consists of light chocolate cream filling sandwiched between two chocolate malted biscuits, and all coated with a thin layer of textured chocolate. That’s the basic thought, there are all kinds of variations, including dark chocolate (pictured above) and even a chili Tim Tam! Made by Arnott’s Biscuits, only in Oz.

Tim Tam Slam - The Tim Tam Slam is a name for a popular method of eating Tim Tams. You bite off two diagonal ends of the biscuit so you can use it as straw to suck up a hot liquid such as tea, coffee, or port!!! The trick is to catch the Tim Tam before it melts into a soggy delicious heap on your chin. ;-) Here’s a set of step-by-step instructions, complete with photos.

Some interesting Tim Tam factoids -

Why the name Tim Tam? - Ross Arnott attended the 1958 Kentucky Derby in the USA and decided to use the name of the winning horse, a three year old called Tim Tam, as the name of his new planned line of biscuits.

How popular are Tim Tams? - Tim Tam is by far Australia’s top selling biscuit with over 240 million Tim Tams sold each year. This means that in the last five years Australians have eaten over a billion Tim Tams.

Hmm… Now I’m wondering. I might throw in some paper napkins. What with the cover hunks and the Tim Tam Slams… ;-)

Don’t forget - every month there’s a chance to win. Keep the comments coming!
